Grandparents/Kinship Parenting

21st Century Scholars - Income-eligible 6th-8th graders who enroll in the program and fulfill a pledge of good citizenship to the state are guaranteed the cost of four years of college tuition at any participating public college or university in Indiana. If the student attends a private institution, the state will award an amount comparable to that of a public institution. If the student attends a participating proprietary school, the state will award a tuition scholarship equal to that of Ivy Tech State College.

AARP - Grandparents Raising Grandchildren - The AARP Grandparent Information Center (GIC) provides information about services and programs that can help improve the lives of grandparent-headed households.

American Bar Association - The American Bar Association Web site includes a "General Public Resources" section that offers help in locating an attorney under "Find a Lawyer".

Brookdale Foundation on Aging - The Samuel Sadin Institute on Law of the Brookdale Center On Aging of Hunter College has a Grandparent Caregiver Law Center (the "Center"). The Center was created to address the financial and legal issues faced by grandparents who are the primary caregivers of their grandchildren

Child Welfare League of America - The Child Welfare League of America (CWLA) is the oldest and largest national nonprofit organization devoted to promoting policies and programs focusing on protecting and strengthening vulnerable children and families.

Grandparents Raising Grandchildren: Implications for Professionals and Agencies Satellite Program Web Site - The web site was developed to support the 1999 national satellite program, Grandparents Raising Grandchildren: Implications for Professionals and Agencies. The web site provides participant materials used during the program, including a resource guide and much more.

Grandparents Raising Grandchildren: Legal and Policy Issues Satellite Program Web Site - This web site was developed to support the 2001 national satellite program. The web site provides participant materials used during the program.

Grandparents United for Children's Rights, Inc. - This is an information and referral nonprofit organization that focuses on grandparents' rights, needs, and advocacy.

Indiana Judicial System - Family Court Project - A pilot project is being done in several counties in the state of Indiana.

Legal Services Corporation - This is a private, nonprofit corporation established by Congress in 1974 to ensure equal access to justice under the law for all Americans. It is headed by a bipartisan board of directors appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate.

National Adoption Information Clearinghouse - The clearing house is a resource for information on all aspects of adoption for professionals, adoptees, birth relatives, and parents.

National Alliance on Caregiving - Connects families with information on caregiver resources and local services.

National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies - NACCRRA is the national network of community-based child care resource and referral agencies. It is a common ground where families, child care providers, and communities can share information about quality child care.

National Child Care Information Center NCCIC - The National Child Care Information Center (NCCIC), a project of the Child Care Bureau, Administration for Children and Families (ACF), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is a national resource that links information and people to complement, enhance, and promote the child care delivery system, working to ensure that all children and families have access to high-quality comprehensive services.

National Committee of Grandparents for Childrens Rights - This is an advocacy group that keeps up on legislation which benefit children being raised by kinship parents.

National Council on Aging BenefitsCheckUp - A free service to help older Americans and their families identify state and federal assistance programs. The service is confidential, and takes only a few minutes to complete.

North American Council on Adoptable Children - The Web site provides a number of fact sheets on adoption subsidies and also provides state-specific profiles that include the definition of special needs, the amount of assistance, and answers to a range of subsidy questions, regarding, for example, Medicaid services, respite care, and modification of adoption assistance agreements.

Purdue Extension Consumer and Family Education - Consumer and Family Sciences Extension provides informal educational programs that increase knowledge, influence attitudes, teach skills, and inspire aspirations. Through the adoption and application of these practices, the quality of individual, family, and community life is improved.

The Grandparent Foundation - The Foundation For Grandparenting is a not-for-profit, 501 (c)3, tax-exempt corporation dedicated to raising grandparent consciousness to better the lives of grandchildren, parents and grandparents.
