Local Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame Inductee, Bruce Parkinson, to compete in LifeStream’s 10th Annual Golf Outing

Bruce Parkinson, an inductee of the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame and former basketball star at Yorktown High School, will compete in LifeStream’s upcoming 10th Annual Golf Outing. The golf outing will be held on May 15 at the Players Club in Yorktown. The outing features a variety of activities including Beat the Pro, Putting Contest, a $5,000 Hole-In-One, and other chances to win cash prizes.

The community is invited to register to compete in the outing as a team or as an individual. The golfing fee is $75 for an individual or $280 for a foursome. Sponsorships are available starting at $100. The event will begin with registration at 11am, followed by lunch at noon, and shot gun start at 1pm. Bruce will be accompanied by his Yorktown High School basketball teammates Kurt Humes, Jeff Tweedy, and Steve Mahoney.

The event proceeds go directly to fulfilling LifeStream’s mission of improving the quality of life for people at risk of losing their independence. LifeStream does this through providing a number of programs and services including transportation, in-home care management, home-delivered meals, and much more for over 19,000 seniors and people with disabilities in twelve counties throughout East Central Indiana.

Bruce Parkinson is a 1972 Yorktown High School graduate. He led the basketball team on its first ever Sectional Championship in 1972 beating Muncie Central. In addition, he holds the record as the third All-Time Leading Scorer in Delaware County. Parkinson went on to start all four years on the Purdue University basketball team.
